Lily attended Safety Town over the last two weeks at Greensview Elementary School in Upper Arlington. This is a program that has been offered since 1971 to 3,4 & 5 year olds in the summer time. It is over two weeks for three hours per day.
Each day they cover a different safety topic in an easy to understand and remember way suited for children. They have so much fun!
They learned all about fire safety, water safety, poison, strangers, bike & road rules, school buses, animal safety, and lots of other tips. The wonderful Officers Heather and Sean were the main instructors, and each of the six classes had their own teachers too. Lily's teacher was Mrs Knoop.
Highlights according to Lily were riding the school bus, learning about things that are safe to eat or not from Spike the porcupine (puppet), riding tricycles around the miniature village in the schoolyard learning about road rules, and seeing the firefighters and the fire truck at the school. Of course telling me how to be safe with everything is a highlight for Lily too!
The photos and video above are from the graduation ceremony they had on the last day of the camp. The kids all agreed they had a great time!
