Cookies

Made some Christmas cookies with lily today, it was fun. Especially for her with all of those sprinkles. Note to self - don't buy the teeny tiny kind any more. I think I will be finding them for months.

About half of the sprinkles ended up in lily's mouth, but we diverted enough to cover the cookies. Also she had one of the still warm cookies in her mouth before I knew what had happened!

Glasses

Lily: I don't see too well so I need my glasses.

It's Christmas Time!

I have spent some time explaining the difference to Lily about the difference between "Christmas Time" and "Christmas Day". Basically it ends up the difference between being allowed to open the presents under the tree or not.

Anyway, it's Christmas TIME (I think she understands now), and here are some photos to celebrate!

Christmas Stockings

Thank you Michael Michael for the Christmas stockings for Lily & Annabelle! Lily is making great use out of them in a way I don't think was intended.

First tooth!

Annabelle's first tooth is poking through today! Bottom right front tooth.

Present for daddy

Me: will I take you shopping to buy daddy a Christmas present?

Lily: yes

Me: what would you like to get for him?

Lily: a birthday hat!

Me: a birthday hat?!

Lily: yes, a red birthday hat.

Me: ok then.

Der Biergarten

I took Lily and Annabelle to the Christmas parade in Atlanta yesterday and we ran into Lily's friend from school Robbie and his family. We had a great time watching the parade together and then all went to get some lunch at a restaurant called Der Biergarten.

It is a great spot, and the kids especially loved this sign, and a model train that runs around the dining room when you press a huge red button - heaven! The mums and dads were ok with the fact that they have nice food and beer too.

In the crib

Lily really wants to sleep in the crib with Annabelle. I wasn't sure why but I put her in there this morning just to see if she would really like it or change her mind. She immediately put the pacifier in her mouth - mystery solved!

Lily & Brooks

This is Brooks, Ace and Amy's son, they came to see us at Thanksgiving and he and Lily really hit it off this time. He is walking around now so well, and just turned 1 on November 2nd. He was happy to follow Lily around!

Annabelle was fast asleep up on her knees, sort of hard to take a photo of but you get the idea. She must be dreaming about crawling!

(Me: hmm, hmm, frantically searching around the room for something beginnning with A, finding nothing, hmm, hmm 'a tv' - no she wouldn't do it that way, 'area rug' - really why would I think she would know or care about that, hmm, hmm)

Me: OK Lily, I give up, don't see anything beginning with A

Lily: DOOR!!!

Me: Oh ok, but door begins with D

Lily: no it doesn't

I will have more photos to come, but here are a couple from school. On Friday Oct 26th, they had Fall Festival at Lily & Annabelle's school, and of course the kids were encouraged to come dressed up. They had a bouncy castle, huge quantities of junk food, and lots of fun!

 

This is Lily in her adorable witch costume, with her best friend Cassidy to the left, who was a princess. Their birthdays are one day apart, and have been together in school since Lily's first day when she was 14 months old. They have moved up together into each new room.

 

This is Ms Hardnett, one of Lily's two teachers, she is wonderful. Lily has been one of her favorites even before she started in her classroom since she would sometimes cover the other rooms in the evenings when other teachers would leave. She was so happy when Lily finally made it into her room!

Fun at the supermarket

We actually did have a fun time for once at the supermarket yesterday! The girls played very nicely with each other in the car trolley while I got a few things. Annabelle loved it, her first time, and Lily loved showing her how it's done.

Guess she was tired after all

Annabelle is just like Lily, afraid to miss anything. She woke up really early and was determined not to go back to sleep.

Anyway after playing and crawling around for a while I looked down and found her fast asleep mid-play!
